The Trevi Fountain is deserted during the Coronavirus emergency lockdown in Rome, Italy, 23 March 2020. Police and soldiers are deployed across the country to ensure that citizens comply with the stay-at-home orders in a bid to slow down the wide spread of the pandemic COVID-19 disease. According to the Civil Protection agency, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in Italy has risen to more than 53,000, while over 4,000 people have lost their lives to the disease and 6,072 have recovered.
