Iranian state media reported on 16 January that Tehran had targeted two alleged bases of the militant group Jaish-ul-Adl in Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan. Pakistan said on 17 January that the recent Iranian airstrikes on its territory killed two children and warned Tehran of 'serious consequences' for the attack.

In this photograph taken on November 13, 2016, trucks are seen parked at the Gwadar port, some 700 kms west of Karachi, during the opening ceremony of a pilot trade programme between Pakistan and China.
Shah Nawaz walks Karachi's dusty streets, one of thousands in the financial hub who are being fed by charities as Pakistan's economy picks up pace -- but, some say, not fast enough for its poverty-stricken millions. Confidence in Pakistan is growing, with the International Monetary Fund claiming in October 2016 that the country has emerged from crisis and stabilised its economy after completing a bailout programme.

Pakistan's official statement did not specify where the strike took place, but Pakistani media said it was near Panjgur, where the countries share a sparsely populated border of nearly 1,000 kilometres (620 miles). STORIA E POPOLAZIONE

I GRUPPI TERRORISTICI
