epa11054269 The morning market burnt out by fires which followed a strong earthquake in Wajima, central Japan, 03 January 2024. The Ishikawa Prefecture Government has announced 62 people were killed by the magnitude 7 earthquake (the USGS listed the magnitude as 7.5) which occured on 01 January. About 33,000 residents in Ishikawa Prefecture have evacuated to 355 makeshift evacuation centers.
