Secondo l’economista Andrei Illarionov, che è stato al fianco del presidente russo dal 2000 al 2005, i progetti del leader del Cremlino potrebbero poi proseguire con “i Paesi Baltici e l’Europa”. Per fermarlo, dice, servirebbe “un vero embargo” energetico da parte dei Paesi occidentali, perché “le sanzioni stanno funzionando ma non bastano”

Secondo Mosca le tre navi erano entrate illegalmente nelle sue acque territoriali e ordinò loro di abbandonare subito la zona: una venne speronata, le altre due furono fermate da una petroliera posizionata sotto il ponte di Crimea (nella foto). I russi aprirono il fuoco e catturarono le tre navi ucraine con tutti i loro 24 marinai, tre dei quali rimasero feriti
