CARACAS, VENEZUELA - 2024/07/29: A motorcycle seen passing by a bonfire set by protesters angry at the re-election of Nicolas Maduro as president of Venezuela. Hundreds of people took to the streets to protest in the afternoon of July 29, after the National Electoral Council (CNE) announced the previous night that Venezuelan candidate and president Nicolás Maduro was the "irreversible winner." The gathering started in one of the city's most iconic neighborhoods, "El Petare." The chants expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome. The situation escalated when the Bolivarian National Guard came out to stop the protesters' advance. (Photo by Israel Fuguemann/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images)
