La compagnia energetica finlandese Gasum ha affermato che compenserà la carenza attraverso il BalticConnector, che collega la Finlandia all'Estonia, e ha assicurato che le stazioni di servizio funzioneranno normalmente

Il vero asso nella manica sembra quindi essere il contratto che il governo di Helsinki ha annunciato di aver firmato con la Excelerate Energy, con sede negli Stati Uniti, per il noleggio decennale di una nave terminal GNL, per ricevere e immagazzinare gas naturale liquefatto. Verrà ormeggiata nel Golfo di Finlandia e dovrebbe essere pronta per operare entro il prossimo inverno
