Covid-19, dal Giappone alla Cina cresce il timore in Asia
A Tokyo la preoccupazione per l’espansione della pandemia è in aumento, a causa degli spostamenti per le festività di inizio anno. In Cina invece si registrano mezzo milione di casi al giorno nella città di Qingdao. E l’India adesso chiede un tampone negativo ai viaggiatori provenienti da questi Paesi

I dati più recenti spingono le autorità alla cautela: nelle ultime 24 ore a livello nazionale le positività si sono assestate a quota 177.620, con 339 decessi. Nella sola capitale i casi ammontano a 18.730, in crescita per il 19/esimo giorno consecutivo

Anche in Cina la situazione sembra essere preoccupante, con mezzo milione di persone in una singola città che vengono infettate ogni giorno dal Covid-19. A dirlo è stato un alto funzionario della Sanità nella città di Qingdao, in un rapporto condiviso sui social ma 'corretto' nel giro di poche ore

Qingdao, città costiera di circa 10 milioni di persone, avrebbe registrato "un periodo di rapida trasmissione avvicinandosi a un picco", secondo quanto riferito dal funzionario, il quale ha precisato che il tasso di infezione accelererebbe di un altro 10% durante il fine settimana. Non è chiaro però quanta trasparenza ci sia nella trasmissione dei dati da parte delle autorità: il rapporto infatti è stato condiviso da diversi altri organi di stampa, ma sembra essere stato modificato dopo poche ore per rimuovere le cifre

Intanto Hong Kong intende riaprire il confine con la Cina entro metà gennaio, come ha annunciato sabato il capo dell'esecutivo John Lee al ritorno da una visita a Pechino. Il confine è chiuso da tre anni a causa della strategia cinese 'zero Covid' con alcune delle restrizioni più draconiane al mondo per far fronte alla pandemia

La situazione in Asia, comunque, rimane difficile: in India il ministro della Salute Mansukh Mandaviya ha fatto sapere che sarà richiesto un tampone negativo ai viaggiatori internazionali in arrivo da Cina, Hong Kong, Giappone, Corea del Sud e Thailandia
