Afghanistan's spy chief, Amrullah Saleh said on May 4 that a "terrorist cell" behind an attack to kill President Hamid Karzai was linked to Al-Qaeda. The "mastermind" of the April 27 attack during a military parade attended by Karzai was killed in a raid by security forces in a Kabul hideout last week, Saleh said. Another militant, a woman and a child were also killed in that raid.
