Al centro della decima edizione, al via l'11 luglio fino al 27 settembre, c'è il racconto della pandemia attraverso le fotografie

ITALY , 2020. Novara. At the cemetery a priest blessing coffins just arrived from Bergamo. The Italian Army has been brought in to ferry coffins out of Bergamo, amongst Italy’s most plagued towns, as its morgue and its crematorium struggle to cope with the surging coronavirus death toll. Along with other northen cities mayors , Alessandro Canelli offered support to the city of Bergamo. As of April 27th a total of 199,414 people in Italy have contracted the virus since the outbreak began, and 26,977 of them have died – more than anywhere else in Europe and second only to the United States.

In questi tempi di pandemia sono sempre più frequenti manifestazioni "sul balcone"

“COndiVIDendo 19” (from the italian "condividere" which means sharing) is a photographic and social project narrating about cohabitaton of italian citiens during Covid19 health crisis.
The images, like family portraits, describe groups of people living together in those environment where they are self-isolatng, be that families, single persons and mixed groups.
Every picture will belong to two authors, the home-based photographer and the subject and they will share the whole process of creation of the picture via a video call. The subjects share their time, their life, their intimacy and their image, with the photographer and then with society.
This process, in additon to narrate the story of day to day cohabitaton of the subjects from the outside to the inside, will also serve the social and community purpose of sharing one’s own mental and physical conditon, from the inside to the outside, similar to the very human need to interact with the rest of the community, self-isolaton notwithstanding.
Following the Italian Government lock-down measures imposed on 9th March 2020, some families managed to reunite, possibly afer a long time, whether others were completely separated with some family members lef stranded in remote places, far away from their loved ones. In other cases, single individuals have been forced to cohabitate with strangers, forming mixed groups, not linked by familiar relations.
During the current health crisis, the meaning attached to the word cohabitation has changed,creatng new relatons from a sort of forced sharing, in particular, of spaces, habits, feelings and fears.

Un'immagine impensabile prima della pandemia: città vuote, senza attività, sospese nel tempo

April 20th, 2020 – Policlinico di Milano.

The hospital's chemistry department started producing a sanitizing gel, according to the recipe of the World Health Organization,for the emergency caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and distributed free of charge to health organizations, to the Civil Protection of Lombardy and also to the Milanese prisons of San Vittore, Opera and Bollate. The hospital's lab are used for all types of analysis necessary to certify individual protection devices that companies wish to donate or place on the market.
