![Spain's National Police officers stand as migrants wait on the sidewalk before being registered in Loma Colmenar district of Ceuta on August 31, 2026. Tensions remain high in the territory of 80,000 inhabitants since tens of thousands of people crossed into Ceuta from Morocco over several days in July, triggering a Europe-wide migrant alert. Spanish Prime Minister said the rush of migrants to the Spanish enclave was still under investigation, though he ruled out any responsibility on the part of Moroccan authorities.
