Police and soldiers are deployed across the country to ensure that citizens comply with the stay-at-home orders in a bid to slow down the wide spread of the pandemic COVID-19 disease. According to the Civil Protection agency, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in Italy has risen to more than 53,000, while over 4,000 people have lost their lives to the disease and 6,072 have recovered.
