I media di tutto il mondo fanno riferimento al bollettino quotidiano rilasciato dal Ministero della Salute di Gaza per dare le cifre delle vittime del conflitto in corso: quello del 25 ottobre parlava di 6.546 palestinesi che hanno perso la vita in 19 giorni. DA DOVE ARRIVANO I DATI SULLE MORTI A GAZA?

A Gaza non possono entrare giornalisti internazionali: non ci sono varchi aperti per entrare nella Striscia. È così dal 7 ottobre, giorno dell’attacco di Hamas a Israele che ha gettato benzina su un conflitto in corso da decenni e che ha convinto il governo israeliano a colpire duramente la Striscia. DIFFICILE VERIFICARE I DATI UFFICIALI

The Washington Post ha scritto proprio della difficoltà dei media nel verificare i dati sulle morti a Gaza, mettendo in luce come la questione non tocchi solo la stampa ma anche le Nazioni Unite. Il 25 ottobre ha pubblicato un articolo intitolato Perché le testate e le Nazioni Unite fanno affidamento sul Ministero della Salute di Gaza per il numero di morti. IL MINISTERO DELLA SALUTE DI GAZA

Per capire meglio la situazione è utile ricordare che la Cisgiordania e la Striscia di Gaza hanno due governi: l'Autorità palestinese di Ramallah - guidata da Fatah, facente parte dell’Organizzazione per la Liberazione della Palestina - e Hamas nella Striscia.
