Le regole sono state stabilite da Fia e Liberty Media in vista del via alla stagione con il doppio appuntamento in Austria, il 5 e 12 luglio, dopo il lungo stop per la pandemia. Gli eventi saranno senza spettatori né persone esterne al paddock. Oltre ai test per piloti e per tutti i membri dei team da effettuarsi regolarmente, sono previsti il dimezzamento del personale delle scuderie, controlli rigorosi prima e dopo le gare, e ulteriori misure per l'isolamento nei weekend consecutivi sulla stessa pista

In vista del via al campionato di Formula 1, il 5 luglio in Austria dopo il lungo stop per la pandemia, FIA e Liberty Media hanno stabilito dei nuovi protocolli anti-coronavirus da rispettare per permettere ai piloti e tutti gli addetti presenti nel paddock di lavorare in totale sicurezza (nella foto il Red Bull Ring, il circuito austriaco di Spielberg)

Al momento il calendario prevede 10 gare: due in Austria (il 5 e 12 luglio), Ungheria (19 luglio), due in Gran Bretagna (2 e 9 agosto), Spagna (16 agosto), Belgio (30 agosto), Italia (6 settembre).
