Throughout the summer, the Po suffered an extreme reduction in water flows due to drought, a situation still not resolved by the few drops of rain in September, characterized by intense short very localized thunderstorms. The very hot days combined with the lack of rainfall created increasing difficulties for farmers and ranchers. After a consistent period of drought, the Po river and its basin have a much lower water flow than normal. Drought is not an unusual phenomenon, but the frequency with which it recurs in recent years is also becoming worried about the impacts it has on animals, flora, and agricultural activities.
