World Press Photo 2024, a Roma le foto finaliste del concorso

E' stata presentata oggi a Palazzo delle Esposizioni la rassegna che presenta in anteprima nazionale gli scatti fotografici vincitori del prestigioso contest di fotogiornalismo che dal 1955 premia ogni anni i lavori dei migliori fotografi professionisti. Promossa da Roma Capitale - Assessorato alla Cultura e dall'Azienda Speciale Palaexpo e ideata dalla World Press Photo Foundation di Amsterdam sarà visitabile fino al prossimo 9 giugno

A ROMA LA PRIMA TAPPA EUROPEA

Roma ospita la prima tappa europea della World Press Photo Exhibition 2024. E' stata infatti inaugurata oggi a Palazzo delle Esposizoni, e sarà visitabile fino al prossimo 9 giugno, la mostra con le fotografie finaliste e vincitrici della 67esima edizione del prestigioso premio internazionale di fotogiornalismo

Gli scatti documentano la vita di Paul Rakotozandriny, "Dada Paul" (91 anni) che convive con la demenza da 11 anni ed è assistito da sua figlia Fara Rafaraniriana (41 anni)

Dal 2019, il Messico si è trasformato da un Paese che accoglieva migranti e richiedenti asilo al confine meridionale a un Paese che applica rigide politiche di immigrazione molto simili a quelle degli Stati Uniti

Title 42 expulsions were removals of people by the United States government who have recently been in a country where a contagious disease was present. In reality, it was a measure used to expressly deny asylum applications and deport the applicants back to Mexico.

Un giovane si tuffa in mare a Bizerte, in Tunisia, il 23 maggio 2022. E' lo scatto del reporter Zied Ben Romdhane che ha vinto l'Africa Long-Term Project, progetto fotografico che racconta la vita dei ragazzi tunisini dopo la rivoluzione del 2011. Oltre il 40% della popolazione tunisina ha un'età compresa tra i 15 e i 34 anni, e la disoccupazione dei giovani sotto i 24 anni si aggira intorno al 40%

E' del reporter Lalo de Almeida l'immagine vincitrice della categoria South America Singles e raffigura un pescatore che attraversa il letto in secca di un ramo del Rio delle Amazzoni, vicino alla comunità indigena di Porto Praia. Nel 2023, l'Amazzonia ha vissuto una intensa siccità che ha avuto un impatto smisurato sulle comunità indigene, rurali e fluviali

SOUTEASTH AND OCEANIA OPEN FORMAT

Una suggestiva riflessione sul paese d'origine della fotografa Aletheia Casey che collega il suo passato coloniale con il suo precario futuro climatico. Questo progetto presenta una serie di immagini post prodotte e ricontestualizzate, capaci di trasmettere i sentimenti di frustrazione e raccapriccio dell'artista in risposta ai devastanti incendi del 2019-2020 nello stato del Nuovo Galles del Sud, in Australia
