Sono stati invitati dall'Academy tantissimi nuovi membri, quasi quattrocento. Tra i nuovi arrivati spiccano i nomi della popstar Billie Eilish, oltre alle attrici e attori Anya Taylor-Joy e Jamie Dornan e la nota dirigente di Disney Dana Walden. C’è anche il regista italiano del film originale Disney-Pixar “Luca”: Enrico Casarosa. Ecco tutti gli invitati a diventare nuovi membri ufficiali

L’Academy ha invitato 397 nuovi membri, tra cui spicca il nome della cantautrice Billie Eilish, oltre a quelli delle attrici e attori Anya Taylor-Joy, Jamie Dornan e Dana Walden (quest’ultima è una nota dirigente di Disney). Tra i quasi 400 artisti e dirigenti invitati a far parte dell'Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences c’è anche il regista italiano del film originale Disney e Pixar Luca: il genovese Enrico Casarosa, che lo scorso anno ha reso le Cinque Terre lo scenario dell sua avventura estiva animata.


“Se tutti gli invitati di quest'anno accettano l'adesione, il numero totale dei membri dell'Academy salirà a 10.665, con 9.665 idonei a votare per il 95° Oscar che si terrà il 12 marzo 2023”, sottolinea il giornalista Clayton Davis in un articolo apparso in queste ore sul magazine statunitense Variety.

La classe del 2022 è composta per il 44% da donne, il 37% appartiene a comunità etniche/razziali sottorappresentate e il 50% proviene da 53 Paesi e territori al di fuori degli Stati Uniti. Ci sono 71 candidati all'Oscar, di cui 15 vincitori, tra gli invitati.

Alcuni dei grandi nomi degli invitati che potrebbero fare il proprio ingresso (usiamo il condizionale perché dipende da loro: possono accettare o meno) sono i recenti vincitori Ariana DeBose (West Side Story) e Troy Kotsur (CODA). Ci sono anche i candidati Jessie Buckley (La figlia oscura), Jesse Plemons e Kodi Smit-McPhee (Il potere del Cane).

Sono stati invitati anche moltissimi artisti non statunitensi, come gli attori Robin de Jesús (Tick, Tick ... Boom!), Olga Merediz (In the Heights) e Vincent Lindon (Titane); c'è poi il regista Reinaldo Marcus Green (King Richard), gli sceneggiatori Jeremy O Harris (Zola) e Jon Spaihts (Dune) e i dirigenti del marketing e delle pubbliche relazioni Debra Birnbaum di Amazon e Gina Pence di Apple.

Pawo Choyning Dorji (Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom), Ryûsuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car), Siân Heder (CODA) e Jonas Poher Rasmussen (Flee) sono stati invitati a unirsi da più filiali, ma alla fine ne verrà selezionato solo uno al momento dell'accettazione dell'adesione, ha spiegato Variety. Tutti quanti i sopracitati nomi sono stati invitati nella sezione registi (Rasmussen per Documentary, mentre Dorji, Hamaguchi e Heder in Writers).

Luca, 5 curiosità sul film di Enrico Casarosa candidato all'Oscar

Noi italiani siamo molto orgogliosi di vedere il nome del nostro connazionale, Enrico Casarosa, tra gli invitati a entrare nella prestigiosissima Academy.

Il regista genovese è colui a cui si deve il capolavoro di animazione Luca, film originale di Disney e Pixar, disponibile su Disney+ (visibile anche su Sky Q e tramite la app su Now Smart Stick). La pellicola è ambientata alle Cinque Terre, dove il regista ligure ha trascorso tutte le estati della sua infanzia. Luca è stato candidato all'Oscar per il miglior film di animazione, rilanciando inoltre in tutto il mondo la Liguria come meta perfetta per le vacanze estive (non che la meravigliosa Liguria ne avesse bisogno, chiaramente, ma avere un film lì ambientato che viene candidato alla statuetta più prestigiosa del grande schermo aiuta di certo il turismo, che va inoltre aiutato in tempi post-Covid che hanno messo in ginocchio tanti settori, turismo in primis).
