DGA, Kwan e Scheinert vincono con Everything Everywhere All at Once. Tutti i premiati

Daniel Kwan e Daniel Scheinert, anche noti come “i Daniels”, si sono aggiudicati il Directors Guild of America Award per il miglior lungometraggio grazie all’apprezzatissimo, premiatissimo e favoritissimo nella corsa agli Oscar Everything Everywhere All at Once. Un risultato straordinario che li rende il terzo duo di registi a conquistare il premio e che li ha portati a battere nientemeno che Steven Spielberg, candidato per The Fabelmans. “È stato un anno incredibile per il nostro piccolo film che in qualche modo continua il suo viaggio”, ha detto Kwan con lo sguardo evidentemente rivolto agli Oscar che si terranno il 12 marzo.

Composta da 19mila membri, la DGA è uno degli indicatori più attendibili per gli Academy Awards nella categoria Miglior Regia. Nella storia è successo infatti solo otto volte che un regista premiato ai DGA non abbia poi ricevuto l’Oscar (una di queste otto risale ad appena tre anni fa, quando Bon Joon Ho con Parasite sconfisse il Sam Mendes di 1917).
